International Spelling & Quiz Contest
The core mandate of the Global Spell Bee is to complement the efforts of Teachers and to organize safe and proper educational events that unearth and exposes the child to positive arenas. Through the healthy sport of Spelling Bee, young minds get the opportunity to develop their mental capacity and interact with different students from different countries and backgrounds
Structure
1. Written test
The Written test comprises of various aspect of the English Language. It is aimed at directing the focus of contestants not only to memorization of words but a wholistic approach at understanding what they are learning.
During the Written test contestants will be quizzed on the following:
- Phonemic Awareness
- Idiomatic Expression
- Passage editing
- Comprehension
- Homophones
- Identification of Parts of speech
- Prefixes and Suffixes
- Theme Word for the year : Sustainability
2. Oral test
The Oral stage of the contest is the Main Spectacle of the competition where. Contestants get to show their prowess in a fierce Battle of Words. All Contestants will have the opportunity to spell 10 words after which an elimination round will take place.
The rounds are:
- Theme words – 4 words
- One Word Substitution – 2 words
- General words – 4 words
